The CL, facilities and welcome from the friendly owners meant we ended up staying a whole week and did not want to leave. Perfect touring base for northern lakes and Eden valley. Level site with all hardstanding pitches but with the ability to peg awning on the grass if you wish as I did. The best on site CL facilities we have ever seen including hookup and water tap to all pitches, superb toilet block with two heated ‘state of the art’ family sized shower rooms complete with granite sinks etc. Open aspect around the CL overlooking the owners farmland along with entertaining young cows on all sides. Very handy for the M6 but do not worry about road noise as the motorway is in a deep cutting lined with trees several hundred metres away and background noise is not intrusive in a caravan. If this doesn’t make CL campsite of the year, then something is going wrong. On arrival a note on door said find a pitch. Very shortly afterwards Julie the site owner came over. We got pitched up and around tea time Julie popped her head around to see if things were ok.

Alde wet heating on gas 5 Caravan mover See text From the table you can see that modern flat panel TV’s are quite economical and that tthe newer LED backlit ones are even more efficient. Do make sure that the one you buy can be run directly off 12 volts. The table also shows that fluorescent lights use less power than halogen lights and that LED lights are more efficient again.
Some are even available as direct replacements for the spotlights found in more recent caravans. Clearly, swapping to this type of lighting is going to make a significant impact on battery life, especially during long dark evenings. We often get asked about the power consumption of caravan movers with people frightened that using a mover would quickly flatten their battery.
Whilst it is true that movers do use a lot of power they are normally used for no more than a minute or two on each outing. The effect of this on a good battery is negligible and nothing to worry about.

Permalink Maybe I’m judging people’s domestic habits by my own. Hee haw, hee haw! However, in this day and age I would hope people aren’t cooking with so much grease to block up drains or pollute the soil. In the days of floating the mutton chops in an inch of dripping, or deep frying everything may have created a major problem if it was tipped down the drain.
The vans with washing machines could also allow the grey water to flow to the ground providing the detergent was bio-degradable. The position of the drain outlet is also important. Best to let it run onto a nearby garden or around trees rather than under the van, or worse, someone else’s van. The layout of some van parks is not always clever either, making run-off a major consideration as well. I use a straight drain hose rather than the black wrinkly stuff which holds solids and sludge creating stinking unpleasant piece of aparatus to be later stowed around the van somewhere.
I have had weldmesh welded to the A frame for my hoses when I’m on the road. Good luck with all that. Transport has no borders. Management makes the decisions, but is not affected by the decisions it makes.

Site fees for caravan parks in North Wales. When thinking about purchasing your very own holiday home it is not just about finding the right caravan or lodge at the right price, the right park or even the right location on the park to site it on.
Blog Caravan site At Restronguet we have a five pitch Caravan Club CL site complete with electrical hook-ups and water to each individual pitch. It is situated in a sunny meadow with views to the west where the setting sun provides beautiful backdrops. Close to the main farmstead, it is near the top of a small hill and on a very gentle slope. As a result it is a dry field and access in and out is made very easy even when wet. The wide gateway opens straight off the road and will allow even the biggest caravan or mobile home to swing off the country road with ease.
It is a good sized site with space enough for you to find your own private spot, either at the top end for the views or the lower half of the field for shelter. As is the case with the rest of the farm we are in a peaceful spot but close to good amenities. The local village of Mylor Bridge has a good range of shops that are open seven days a week and they are either a five minute drive away or a ten minute walk — the latter down a footpath across fields.
Walks are numerous and varied around the peninsula, and the Pandora Inn, a famous 13th century pub, is a fifteen minute walk away — down the hill from the farm, across a beach and then the path runs alongside the estuary. We have electrical hook-ups for those who want to have mains electricity. We also offer battery charging for those who need it. A garden shed is situated on site with tourist and site information.
